An overview of the Amplify Teacher Code of Conduct
Amplify Teacher Forums Code of Conduct
Welcome to the Amplify teacher forums! Use the forums to connect with other teachers using the Amplify curriculum. We encourage you to talk about the tablet software, discuss the lessons, ask technical questions, and give us your feedback.
These forums are for you, so we encourage you to use them however you'd like! But we do have some guidelines to facilitate a positive atmosphere:
- Think before you post. These forums are moderated, but they are not pre-moderated. Your posts will show up immediately. You can edit your own posts to the forum, but you can’t delete them. Amplify Community Managers will review the forum regularly to answer your questions. Please note that if you have a technical support question that requires immediate response, you should contact us by email, phone, or chat.
- Do not share your personal information, or the personal information of any of your students. If you want to talk about a scenario pertaining to specific students, use the nomenclature “Student A,” “Student B,” etc.
- Be supportive. Encourage others, help them out when they get stuck, and post your suggestions. When the forums are a supportive place, everyone benefits!
- If you wouldn’t accept it from one of your students, don’t post it yourself. Those found bullying, spamming, trolling, name-calling, or otherwise attacking another teacher will be given a warning by the moderators. If the inappropriate behavior continues, they will be banned from the forums.
- Stay on topic.
- Don’t promote personal projects. These forums are available as a resource to teachers using Amplify software and may be used to discuss the software or the curriculum, or even collaborate on general ideas about teaching. Posts advertising personal projects or other companies will be removed.
- Always attribute. It’s okay to quote from books or even from other teachers’ posts on the forums, but it’s not okay to pretend you wrote it yourself. If you ever copy someone else’s writing, give them credit.
- Pay attention to what’s in your photos and videos. Only include people who agree to be in your pics and videos. And be sure you don’t have any shots of your house in which the address is visible, or screenshots from your computer/tablet in which your email address is displayed. Don’t give anyone your contact info by accident!
- We want to hear from you so that we can learn from you. If you like something about the software or curriculum—and especially if you don’t like something—tell us. We want to understand what you find compelling so that we can improve the experience for all teachers and students.
Consequences for Breaking Rules
- Moderators will remind participants of the relevant rules. If the content is inappropriate, moderators will immediately delete the post.
- If the inappropriate behavior continues, moderators will ban offenders from the forums temporarily.
- If the inappropriate behavior continues after the temporary ban is lifted, moderators will ban offenders from the forums permanently.
